Order your own Tuscobia Winter Ultra Stormy Kromer cap!

The “Friends of Tuscobia Ultras” is a group of volunteers based in Park Falls.  The group is led by Mike and Gail Boushon and Greg Broome (from the CCC).  They have organized the design and pre-order of the legendary Stormy Kromer hats, customized for the Tuscobia Winter Ultra.  Orders are due before November 15th, and will be available for pick at the Tuscobia races.

George “Stormy” Kromer was a railroad engineer, and to see where he was headed, he had to stick his head out the window – into the wind.  Mother Nature stole his cap more than once.  In 1903, he asked his wife, Ida, to modify an old baseball cap to help keep it on in windy weather.  The all-cloth cap with the soft, canvas visor was a departure from the traditional fedoras of the day, but it was more comfortable and because of it’s six-panel fit, it stayed put.  Soon other railroad workers wanted one of Stormy Kromer’s caps for themselves, and when Ida could no longer keep up with demand, they hired a few employees and the business was born.  Stormy Kromer caps are made in Ironwood, MI.        http://www.stormykromer.com/

Caps will be black with white embroidery.  Cost is $35, payable with your order.

To find your size, measure around the largest part of your head, above the eyebrows, with a tape measure, then find your size on the chart below.  If you are between sizes, always round up to the nearest eighth.  You can tighten your cap’s fit further by adjusting the tie in front.
